It is a modern yoga pose, and that too a standing one. There are three different poses in the same asana. It is considered as a part of the Moon salutation poses.

How To Do?

⦁ You have to stand in the triangle pose initially. Then you can slowly lower the left side of the body, with the left hand outstretched downwards.
⦁ Contract the core, and slowly bring your right hand to your right hip and lift up your right foot and straighten your right leg upward or sideward, balancing the body on the left leg and the left hand, that are on the floor. Your gaze will be at the left hand.
⦁ Ensure your left leg sturdy by engaging your glutes and quads. Lift up the kneecap, and anchor yourself with the four corners of your left foot, grounding yourself into the earth for support.
⦁ After you are done, rotate your right hip back, stacking it on top of your left hip. So, instead of your hips being parallel to the earth, they should be parallel to the right-side wall, where you are positioned.
⦁ Thereafter, extend your right hand towards the sky, with the palm facing the right side of the room.
⦁ Lift the shoulder blades. You can imagine that you’re holding a pencil in between your shoulder blades.
⦁ Stay like that for a few deep breaths.
⦁ Slowly break out of the position, in the same way you came got into it. Repeat for the other side.

Benefits

⦁ This asana helps to build the flexibility of the spine. If you practice this asana regularly, you will get relief from Sciatica pain.
⦁ This pose helps to stretch the shoulder muscles.
⦁ The pose also stretches the upper chest region.
⦁ If you practice regularly, you will be able to give a boost to your digestive system.
⦁ If you suffer from hypertension, this asana will provide you some relief.
⦁ It also gives a good stretch to the neck region.

Contraindications

⦁ If you suffer from low blood pressure, you must not practice the asana.
⦁ If you have diarrhea, you must not practice the asana.
⦁ Patients with Herniated discs and back pain, must not practice this asana.

OUR COURSES :- 200 YTTC , 300 YTTC , 10 yoga retreat

Our suggestion :- wikipedia

Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose) Ardha Chandrasana comes from Sanskrit words ‘Ardha’, means ‘Half’ and ‘Chandra’ means “Moon”.
