It is a standing balance yoga pose that requires and also builds immense strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. It also stretches and strengthens the leg muscles, as well as opens the shoulders and chest. This pose\u00a0is referred to by its Sanskrit name,\u00a0Natarajasana. The meaning of this Sanskrit name is given below.<br \/>\nNata- Dance, Raja- King, Asana \u2013 Pose<br \/>\nThis is a pose, that resembles Lord Shiva\u2019s dancing pose. It is a known fact, that Lord Shiva has immense love for the arts. And, hence this one of the poses, that deeply relate to him. You have to bend the left knee and lift your left foot off the floor. Keep your left knee inclined toward your midline throughout this pose.<br \/>\n\u2981 Grasp the sides or whole of your left foot with your left hand. Your thumb should rest\u00a0on the sole of your foot and\u00a0pointing in the direction of your toes.<br \/>\n\u2981 Lift the right arm and point it straight up to the ceiling.<br \/>\n\u2981 Lift your left leg behind upwards you as you bring your torso forward as a counter-balance pose. Remember that your left knee should not move out to the side. Your right arm will also move forward a little bit.<br \/>\n\u2981 Kick your left foot into your left hand to lift the leg higher and deepen the pose. Keep your left toes active.<br \/>\n\u2981 Fix your gaze on something that doesn&#8217;t move so that you don\u2019t lose balance.<br \/>\n\u2981 Hold the pose for a few breaths.<br \/>\n\u2981 Lower your left leg back on the floor.
