The Retreat Programme Decoded
At our Yoga school, you will wake up early in the morning, take a morning refreshing drink made from fruits and start the day. Additionally, you may also start the day with a kriya, under the supervision of a yoga expert. We generally start each day with Hatha yoga. The Surya Namaskara is the first initiator of the yoga practice. You are supposed to say the mantra, as advised by your trainer. Then you can start with the Surya Namaskara. The Surya Namaskara is a sequence of 12 poses, that are done one after the other. It is a great warm up exercise for you, and also helps to loosen the muscles in your body. Apart from that, it also provides you the chance to pay your reverence to the sun god.
After you are done with the Surya Namaskara, you can start with some easy poses on the first day. Some of the easiest poses, for you are Padmasana, Vajrasana, Sukhasana, Tadasana, and Vrikshasana to name a few. Most beginners start with these poses. If you are an intermediate or have been practicing yoga, you can also go for tougher poses, like Gaumukh asana, Ardha Matsyendra asana, or Supta Vajrasana. You can also try Bhujangasana. The asanas may be different, as ascertained by your guru.
After you are done with your Hatha Yoga practice, you will do meditation. Additionally, you can also take part in chanting and mantra meditation. Moreover, you will also be taken for excursions to nearby places. The experience of practicing yoga amidst nature is the best. Your mind will be in unison with the surroundings.
