Supta Vajrasana

Supta Vajrasana is derived from Sanskrit words “Supta” means “sleeping”, “Vajrasana” means “Thunderbolt”, “Asana” means “pose”. It is a modern supine pose, which is considered of intermediate level. It also resembles the Fish pose, to a certain extent. The Nadi that controls sexual urges in the human body, is also called Vajra. How To Do It?

⦁ Sit in Vajrasana. Place the palms on the floor beside the buttocks, with the fingers pointing towards the front.
⦁ Bend your back slowly, placing the right forearm, and the elbow on the ground and then the left arm.
⦁ Bring the head to the ground while arching the back. Place the hands on the thighs.
⦁ Try to keep the lower legs in contact with the floor. If necessary, separate the knees.
⦁ Do not overstrain the muscles and ligaments of the legs.
⦁ Close the eyes and relax the body. You have to practice deep breathing in the final position.
⦁ Release from the pose in the reverse order, breathing in and taking the support of the elbows. You have to raise the arms above the head at this time.
⦁ You have to shift the body weight on the left arm and elbow by sliding the body, and then slowly come to the starting position.
⦁ Do not release the legs first; it may dislocate the knee joints.
